Help Me Choose
Tell Faro what you're in the mood for, how much time you have, what you can watch and what to avoid. Get a short slate for tonight.
PUBLIC IPHONE BETA
Faro helps you turn taste, mood, availability and the people you watch with into a short, useful slate for tonight.
Requires iPhone and Apple's free TestFlight app. Places are limited.
WHAT FARO DOES
Faro narrows the evening to films that make sense now — not another wall of options to scroll through.
Tell Faro what you're in the mood for, how much time you have, what you can watch and what to avoid. Get a short slate for tonight.
Choose with a partner, friend or family member. Faro weighs both taste profiles so one person's queue does not dominate.
Rate what you've seen. Save what you want. Build a taste profile that makes each next pick sharper.
Keep the contenders in one place, then lock in the film when you've decided.
ONBOARDING SHORTCUT
If you already have a film-rating history, Faro can use it to understand your taste more quickly.
If you already rate films on Letterboxd, importing your ratings is the fastest way to teach Faro your taste — and the quickest route to your first Taste Matches. Faro imports a CSV export of your existing ratings, so you don't have to start from scratch.
WHY FARO
Streaming services are good at giving you options. Faro is built for the harder part: turning those options into a decision.
Faro is designed to reduce the choice set, not keep you scrolling.
Taste Matches are worked out automatically from taste overlap and can change over time. You do not approve each Taste Match individually.
Watch Together helps you find films that could work for everyone in the room.
Your film ratings are visible by username to your Taste Matches and Close Circle; outside those audiences, Faro uses rating evidence only in name-free grouped summaries where enough people support it.
WATCH TOGETHER
Faro is most useful when the decision involves more than one person. Add someone to your Close Circle, compare taste and let Watch Together find films that have a chance of working for both of you. Close Circle can see your ratings by username where Faro uses them as shared film-night evidence.
WHO IT IS FOR
Faro is for people who like films but don't want every night to become a negotiation with a streaming menu. Plenty are choosing with a partner, friends or family, where one person's obvious pick is another's hard pass. Some track nothing and simply know what they love. And some keep careful lists and ratings and want that effort to become useful. Faro is built for all of them.

WAITLIST
Use this only if the public TestFlight beta is full. I'll use the waitlist to open more places in waves.
What is collected: first name, email, device type, optional iOS version, reason for joining and consent to contact you.
How it is used: waitlist management, beta capacity planning and feedback contact if a place opens.
PRIVACY
Your ratings are yours. Faro shows them, by username only, to your Close Circle and to Taste Matches — the people whose overlap explains why a pick might work. Everywhere else, your ratings appear only inside name-free summaries, and only where enough people support the claim. No ads, no sponsored picks, no selling your data, ever.
The beta does not contain ads, in-app purchases, sponsored recommendations or paid ranking.
Outside Taste Matches and Close Circle, Faro uses rating-based recommendation evidence only as name-free aggregate summaries where enough people support the claim.
Close Circle is for people you actually watch with. It can show your ratings by username for shared film-picking, but it is not used as a generic solo recommendation signal.
TestFlight feedback, screenshots and support form submissions help fix bugs and recommendation misses.

Yes. Faro is best tested with a partner, friend, housemate or family member so Watch Together can be tried in a real film-night situation.
No. Letterboxd is brilliant for logging, reviewing, lists and film community. Faro is focused on a narrower problem: using ratings and taste overlap to help you decide what to watch.
Faro works best on overlap between real viewing histories, and a young beta doesn't always have enough of those yet. Until it does, some recommendations lean on starting profiles I assembled by hand from public evidence about taste. None of them is a portrait of any real person and all of them are built to step back as genuine overlap grows. I'd rather tell you what a recommendation is standing on than let you assume.
Wrong posters, search failures, streaming-service issues, slow screens, confusing copy, recommendation misses, duplicate results and Watch Together suggestions that do not make sense.
To run the beta, improve recommendations, debug issues and contact you about feedback you choose to share. Faro does not sell personal data.
No. The beta has no ads, no paid placement and no sponsored recommendations.
