1. Agreement
These terms govern use of Faro, an iPhone app operated by Phil Milburn-McNulty. By using Faro you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy.

2. Using Faro
Faro helps people choose films using your own ratings, Help me choose, Watch together and shared lists with people you invite. The app is for personal, non-commercial use.
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for the activity that occurs through your account.
3. Your taste data and content
You may add ratings, rankings, saves, passes, picks, lists, preferences and other film-taste information. You keep any rights you have in content you submit, but you grant Faro the permission needed to operate the app, provide recommendations, sync your account and support features you choose to use.
You should not submit unlawful, harmful or infringing content.
4. Recommendations
Faro recommendations are informational and taste-led. Faro does not guarantee that every recommendation will be available, accurate, suitable for every viewer or aligned with all personal sensitivities.
Film metadata, availability, ratings, posters, trailers and third-party catalogue information may be incomplete, incorrect or change over time.
5. Third-party services and content
Faro uses TMDB for film information, OMDb for the IMDb, Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic scores shown on a film's page and Apple for App Store and TestFlight distribution. Faro's own accounts, sync and storage run on Supabase. Faro does not use third-party advertising or tracking services.
TMDB content is provided by TMDB-related services where used. Faro is not endorsed or certified by TMDB. Apple is not responsible for Faro except as required by applicable App Store terms. Score data from OMDb is used under its non-commercial licence.
6. Acceptable use
- Do not misuse Faro, interfere with its systems or attempt unauthorised access.
- Do not use Faro to harass, spam or impersonate others.
- Do not scrape, reverse engineer or copy the service except where allowed by law.
- Do not use Faro in a way that violates applicable law or third-party rights.
7. App Store terms
If you download Faro through Apple's App Store or TestFlight, Apple's terms may also apply. Purchases, refunds, subscriptions and device distribution may be handled by Apple if those features are added.
8. Availability and changes
Faro may change, pause or discontinue features. During launch, some functionality may be limited, in beta or unavailable while the app is being prepared.
9. Disclaimers and liability
Faro is provided as it is. Nothing in these terms removes any consumer rights you have under the law of your country.
10. Ending use
You may stop using Faro at any time. To delete your account or data, email support@tryfaro.app; it is handled by hand, as described in the Privacy Policy.
11. How your ratings improve Faro
Your ratings and reactions are stored with your account and power Faro's recommendations for you. In aggregate — never as your identifiable choices — they also help improve recommendations for everyone on Faro.
